Each GLP-1 medicine has its own rule for a missed dose. The rule depends on how many days have passed. This page puts the rules from each label side by side.
Weekly shots

When you skip a dose, take the next dose on your usual day. Then go on with your usual weekly plan.
Day by day, for a Monday shot
The labels count the time from the missed dose. This example shows how the rules read for a usual shot day of Monday.
- Ozempic: the 5 days end on Saturday. After that, the label says to skip the dose and take the next dose on Monday.
- Mounjaro or Zepbound: the 96 hours end on Friday, at the time of the missed dose. After that, the label says to skip the dose and take the next dose on Monday.
- Wegovy shot: the next Monday dose is more than 2 days away until Saturday, at the time of the dose. After that, the label says not to take the missed dose.
The hours count. Your pharmacist can apply the rule to your missed time.
If you miss two or more Wegovy shots
The Wegovy label says: when you miss 2 or more doses in a row, your doctor starts the dose steps again at a lower dose. This can decrease stomach side effects. Talk to your doctor before your next shot.
Daily tablets
For Rybelsus, Ozempic tablets and Wegovy tablets, the label says: skip the missed tablet, and take the next tablet the following day. Do not take two tablets on one day.
If you want a new shot day
- Ozempic: the label says there must be more than 48 hours between two doses.
- Mounjaro and Zepbound: the label says there must be at least 3 days (72 hours) between two doses.
